Why Delaford?
When establishing a new business, choosing a name is one of the most important decisions you make.
It is often the first thing a client sees and the first impression they form. We wanted a name that reflected not only our professional expertise, but also the values that underpin the way we work.
That name is Delaford.
The inspiration comes from Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen, one of England's most celebrated authors. In the novel, Delaford is the estate of Colonel Brandon, a character admired for his integrity, loyalty, humility and quiet strength.
Unlike many of Austen's more flamboyant characters, Colonel Brandon is not driven by status or appearance. He is dependable, thoughtful and trusted by those around him. His actions speak louder than his words.
Those qualities resonated with us.
